15 years ago on the fateful day of 1 June 2001, the Mist Fire Solutions Managing Director experienced a home fire whilst hosting a children’s birthday party at home. I am sure you can imagine the problems relating to evacuating 30 children and their parents?

This system would have eliminated the problem.

Unfortunately, the Mist Fire MD’s own daughter was badly burned from hiding behind a couch, as children do. She spent four months in Trauma Intensive Care and many years in rehabilitation to use her limbs again. Over 200 operations have still left her very badly scarred for life.

After the unfortunate incident, Mist Fire Solutions MD naturally started investigating why escape was such a problem for his daughter. What transpired from that was the discovery that a fixed home fire protection was not available in South Africa which would have solved the problem.

Home Fire Protection

Office buildings and Warehouses we all work in have to have sprinkler protection which forms most likely the most important part of the total home Fire Protection System in these buildings. For good reason. They are automatically deployed where needed. It fascinated our MD why these systems were not available or even in planning phase in the most important building in our lives, our HOME. This is where our family young and old live. This is what led to the drive to find the solution.

That’s why this system is critical to your family’s safety.  Mist Fire Solutions MD began taking a National and International interest in Fire in South Africa. He has been on many SABS Technical Committee’s for Safety for 14 years from the date his daughter was burnt. He is also currently the Elected South Africa Specialist for SABS to ISO for Fire Safety related issues.

This means that Mist Fire Solutions MD continually represents South Africa abroad. He has been using these trips to research Fire Safety in the many countries he has been to and has finally found a system that would suit South African conditions 100%. This system is so revolutionary it is customizable to suit the client’s risk profile.
